An ambitious lifetime project planting mango trees at the Pema Ts’al School to directly encourage the younger generation to become involved in the care of Mother Earth and her environment, by introducing mango trees that not only have local environmental benefits but also have far better economic viability for the local community than its annual crops of rice and corn.

Pandemic Relief for India and Nepal
Providing vital aid to communities in need
Our ongoing relief program distributes food and supplies to impoverished families in South India and Nepal, including Pokhara and the Upper Mustang, which has been devastated by the impact of Covid-19. Your support goes directly toward the purchase of rice, lentils, and other staples that these struggling communities need to survive.

Can I claim a tax deduction for donations I make to Vikramasila Foundation?
Yes. Vikramasila is recognized as tax exempt under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. 100 percent of your donation is tax-deductible. Our Federal Tax ID number or Employer Identification Number (EIN) is 22-2998005. If you have further questions, we suggest you contact your tax adviser or accountant, or visit the IRS website for more information.
How will I receive a receipt for my donation?
You will receive an email acknowledgement and tax receipt at the time of your donation. You may use this as a record to claim a tax deduction for the calendar year in which you made the donation. To request a receipt, please email paldensakya@vikramasila.org.
What percentage of my donation goes to program activities?
If you made a donation to a specific project, 100 percent of your donation will go to the activity you indicated. If you made a general donation to Vikramasila, 100 percent of your donation will go to our general activities, including overhead costs, which are very minimal.
Can I give a donation in honor or memory of someone or as a gift?
You can give a donation in memory of someone, and we will keep their name in the record. You can also make a donation as a gift to commemorate a holiday, birthday, wedding, graduation, or other special occasion.
Simply indicate in the message area of your donation of whom the gift is in honor. To notify the individual of the gift you made on their behalf, we recommend sending them an ecard.
